Dear friends, brothers, sisters, and collaborators of DIACONÍA:

We began as the social arm of the Lutheran Church, initially as an emergency response program following the 1970 earthquake. Later, in 1983, we were officially established as DIACONÍA.

For all these years, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Peru welcomed us to its building in the Breña district, a cherished place from which we carried out our mission and our commitment to community development. From this space, we shared important experiences with our neighbors, highlighting significant milestones such as the opening of the community kitchen in 2020, as a show of solidarity in the face of job losses and the difficulties many families faced in supporting their households due to COVID-19.

Today, under God's guidance, it is time for us to leave these facilities to continue our institutional work from a new location. Therefore, we would like to inform you that we have moved to Cercado de Lima, to our office located at 682 Julio Rodavero Street, first floor. From there, we will continue working diligently under the diaconal mandate to serve our neighbors through our social action.

Welcome, everyone. This move represents an opportunity to continue building stories that add to our institutional memory, forged thanks to the commitment and dedication of generations of staff, members of the Board of Directors, and associates.

From here, we reaffirm our mission: inspired by the love of God, we accompany vulnerable and at-risk populations in building resilient societies and in the full exercise of their civil, political, economic, social, cultural, and environmental rights.

With gratitude for the journey we have traveled and with hope for this new chapter, we renew our commitment to continue serving, supporting, and building alongside the Andean-Amazonian rural communities that give meaning to our work. We look forward to welcoming you to this space, which from now on is also home to all who share the purpose of DIACONÍA.
